Romeoville to Partner
Will County for
Electronic Recycling
The Romeoville Village Board approved a proposed agreement with Will County to provide electronic recycling services. Electronics have been banned from landfills in Illinois since 2012. Due to changes in the collection service and markets for the materials, the Electronic Recycling Center located in Romeoville was closed in February 2016.
“There is a great demand for recycling services in our area,” said Mayor John Noak. “We are fortunate to be able to partner with Will County on this initiative,” he added.
The new agreement will provide for Electronic Recycling twice a month at the Romeoville Public Works Facility.  Will County officials are anticipated to take final action on the agreement later this month. The program is proposed to start in August.
