Mike experienced the true power of community when his wife suffered a brain injury in an auto  accident and his community rallied around his family in full force.  In return,   he now devotes his time as the Executive Director of the Institute for Community, which owns and operates programs through the Friendship Centre at HighPoint. The Friendship Centre provides resources, support groups and education for families in the Romeoville/Bolingbrook area.  Mike will be talking about building quality relationships where you live and work through the power of genuine community. New Members Welcome! Romeoville High School Band Annual Festival Night
Saturday, February 20, 2016, 4:30 p.m.
Romeoville High School Auditorium,100 N. Independence Blvd.
Festival Night begins with a pasta dinner in the cafeteria at 4:30 p.m. with music provided by the RHS Jazz bands at 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. followed by a concert at 7 p.m. featuring all of band ensembles.The event is a fundraiser to support the RHS band program including a silent auction and items raffled during the concert. Dinner and concert tickets, $10. Concert only tickets, $5.

Lewis Univ. Spring Performing Arts Series features a performance by Andrew Spenser, “A Different Drummer…with Broken Instruments”

Wednesday, February 24, 2016, 7:30 p.m.
Philip Lynch Theatre, Lewis University, 1 University Pkwy.
The performance features acoustic and electro-acoustic music with a percussionist who has been the featured performer at the Electronic Music Midwest Festival and timpanist with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and the Midland Symphony Orchestra. Admission is free for Lewis students, $5 for guests and $10 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling (815) 836-5500.
The Romeoville American Legion Post 52 Queen of Hearts Weekly Raffle/Fundraiser 
Every Wednesday night at Lost Acre Lounge 7 Alexander Cir. Tickets will be sold until 6:55 p.m. and the drawing will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
