The Village Board unanimously authorized Staff to move forward with the Construction of Fire Station No. 1 to replace the 16,000 square foot building originally constructed in 1973. Bids were accepted on August 27th to rebuild the station on the existing site.
The new headquarters, designed by Dewberry Architects, will include Administrative Offices and will be a 13,500 square foot facility.
“The existing building was in great disrepair. We reviewed numerous options as well as locations, and rebuilding on the exiting site was the best option. We are able to do this with using funds on hand and not creating any additional debt,” said Mayor Noak.
The construction management team, Corporate Construction Services, is expected to start issuing contracts immediately to start construction.
