Two New Developments
At Wednesday night’s Village Board Meeting, Village Officials reviewed concept plans for two new developments.
The first development considered was Value Place Hotel, located on the south side of Windham Parkway along I-55. The proposed hotel is a 4-story building consisting of 43,036 square feet that includes a total of 116 rooms on a 2.1-acre vacant parcel. Value Place is an extended stay hotel that has 175 sites in 30 States throughout the U.S. that according to submitted documents makes it the largest extended stay franchise brand in the U.S.
- The second development is for a new McDonald’s restaurant located at 645 N. Independence Blvd. (the northeast corner of IL Route 53 and Greenwood Avenue.) The proposed restaurant consists of 4,471 square feet and includes a drive-through facility that includes dual-position drive-through lanes for ordering. The 1.23-acre site is vacant and was formerly the site of a Bell Fuels gas station.
“Plans are just underway, but we look forward to seeing the two new developments progress. Village staff will continue to work with representatives of both proposed developments to ensure the site designs are consistent with the Village’s requirements,” said Mayor John Noak.
