At last night’s Board Meeting, Romeoville officials approved the first commercial development in Uptown Square. The development agreement with BG Investments, LLC is to construct a 10,000 square foot building at the corner of Phelps and Route 53. The new facility will include Fat Ricky’s Restaurant, a delicatessen and a 4,000 s.f. grocery store called Franconi’s.
“We are very excited about this new development. While Fat Ricky’s restaurant will continue their success in the new location, adding the new Franconi’s grocery store to this development has been a priority of the Village Board,” said Mayor John Noak. Construction is anticipated to begin this summer with completion by the end of the year.
In addition to the development by BG Investments, another retail outlot for Uptown Square will be presented to the Village Board in the near future for the corner of Alexander and Route 53.
