|Romeoville Sam’s Club Breaks Ground
(Romeoville, IL) – Romeoville Mayor John Noak and Kevin Rucker, Sam’s Club Market Manager, and local Village and County dignitaries ceremoniously commenced the building of a new Romeoville Sam’s Club which will be located adjacent to the Walmart Supercenter at 460 S. Weber Road.
“On behalf of the Village of Romeoville, I would like to thank Sam’s Club for investing in our community. The addition of Sam’s Club to our retail development not only enhances the shopping amenities for Romeoville, but will draw customers from other Will County communities,” said Mayor John Noak.
This Romeoville Sam’s Club is planned to include over 136,000 square feet of retail space. It will feature a fuel station exclusively for Sam’s Club members and also offer members everything needed for outdoor entertaining, such as fresh produce, quality meats and home meal solutions. Members will also appreciate the large selection of Illinois-made products, and an expansive wine and liquor department.
Members and the general public can benefit from the pharmacy featuring $4 and $10 generic prescriptions and savings on branded prescriptions. Sam’s Club also offers an optical department for routine eye exams and free monthly health screenings to help members take charge of their health through preventive measures.
The new Romeoville club is being constructed with a variety of environmentally friendly materials and energy-efficient fixtures. For instance, daylight-harvesting skylights reduce the amount of energy required to light the store by up to 75 percent daily. LED lighting throughout the club, including in the cooler and freezer box doors and jewelry counter, operates 70 percent more efficiently than traditional fluorescent lighting.
Additionally, the Romeoville club includes Click ‘n’ Pull® which allows members to submit orders online before 5 p.m. each day and the items will be ready to be picked up in the club the next day.
“I am delighted to be here with you today to celebrate the commencement of the construction of the Romeoville Sam’s Club,” said Kevin Rucker. “With its rapid growth, Will County is a very important market for Sam’s Club. We know that the residents of Romeoville, Will County and surrounding communities will find this new store a very convenient and competitive shopping destination.”
The store is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2013. More than 175 Associates will be hired locally for jobs in the new Sam’s Club.
