Electrical Aggregation on March Primary Ballot
In March, residents will be given the opportunity to vote on a referendum relating to electricity supply. The following referendum question will appear on the primary ballot: “Shall the Village of Plainfield have the authority to arrange for the supply of electricity for its residential and small commercial retail customers who have not opted out of such a program?” Electric Aggregation is a program that allows local governments to bundle, or aggregate, residential and small commercial retail electric accounts and seek bids for a cheaper supply of power. If the referendum is approved, the Village will join forces with the Will County Governmental League and other municipalities to request proposals for electricity.
